Mr. Buechner's practice includes patent application preparation and prosecution of patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, opinions on patentability, validity and infringement issues and litigation support in the mechanical and electromechanical arts.
Prior to joining Bacon & Thomas, Mr. Buechner was a patent examiner for nearly five years in fields as diverse as dispensers, valves, medical devices and electronic amusement devices.
Mr. Buechner's graduate work at the University of Wisconsin at Madison focused on the study of viscoelastic properties of materials, including high-stiffness, high-damping metals, as well as hierarchical materials such as bovine bone. Mr. Buechner's Master Thesis was the basis for three publications in archival journals.
